We work with local tour operators, and we do not charge booking fees for these tours, but consider it an additional service to help everyone organize their trip in the best way possible.

At 07:30 AM you will drive along the Pan-American Highway to the city of Alajuela. On the way you make a stop at the Juan Santamaria monument and at the famous Mango Park. Afterward, you make you will get an explanation of the Costa Rican coffee industry. After this, the journey will continue past different plant, flower and strawberry farms located in the area.

Upon arrival at the Poas National Park you will immediately feel the difference in temperature. At the volcano you will have time to enjoy the impressive crater with its sulfur and see the Boto Lagoon. During the walk through the park you will learn more about the different ecosystems around here. This tour includes a bilingual guide (Spanish / English). The entrance fee to the park is included in the price.

Check with us if this tour is possible due to the fact that the volcano is active at times and therefore sometimes closed to the public.

This ‘Snorkeling and Hiking Tour’ is designed to see and experience as much as possible in the beautiful Cahuita National Park, which includes both jungle and a marine reserve. The reserve was opened in 1978 and runs entirely on donations which are used for the maintenance and safety of the natural inhabitants of the park, as well as its visitors.

You’ll start with a snorkeling tour along the reef where as many as 240 aquatic animals make their home. You will be able to spot tropical fish, sharks, stingrays, lobsters, etc. A professional guide will accompany you.

Afterward, you relax at Punta Cahuita, a beautiful viewpoint where you enjoy a small snack before you start your hike. Meanwhile, your local guide will tell you more about the healing powers of some plants and point out the animal life in the area. Along the way, chances are you will see howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths, iguanas, lizards, snakes, birds and crabs. Eventually, you will arrive back at the entrance to the national park.

Please note that the snorkeling portion of this tour depends on the weather conditions and if the water is clear or not. Transportation by boat, snorkel equipment, a snack, and water are included in the tour. You will be accompanied by a professional guide. Entry to the national park is not included, it is a voluntary contribution.

The Pacuare River is one of the best choices for an adventure rafting trip in Costa Rica. The Pacuare is world-famous for its sheer beauty.

The river passes through a fantastically beautiful forested landscape, you feel as if you are far away from civilization. During the trip you will see several waterfalls. You also have the chance to see sloths, monkeys, toucans, parrots, coatis, and other wildlife.
The rapids are exciting, and it is a great challenge to navigate this river in a raft. The various rapids will provide a lot of fun and adventure. The total distance of the trip is 18 km / 11 miles, and you will encounter 38 different rapids.

The trip will end in Siquirres at the Exploration Center. Here you can take a shower and have a beer in the garden or on the terrace.

This tour takes you on a unique rafting and hiking expedition. Part of the trip is done by raft, but you also hike to beautiful waterfalls and explore the primary rainforest.

On the first day you will make a raftingtour of in total 13 km/8 miles, and you will encounter 14 rapids. During your trip you have lunch at the Pacuare River Lodge and in the afternoon you can go hiking, fishing or just relax in your hammock. The Lodge can be found next to the river, but also in the middle of your jungle. You sleep in comfortable safari tents, a unique way to fully experience the jungle. The next morning after a typical Costa Rican breakfast and a cup of delicious coffee, you are ready for the start of a new rafting adventure.

Today you will spend a little longer on the river, and you will encounter a number of class 4 rapids, a great way to put the experience of the day before into practice. Along the way you will stop for a nice hike and have lunch on the river bank.
You end your two-day adventure in Siquirres at the exploration centre where you can shower, change clothes and drink a refreshing beer, before continuing your journey.

This tour starts in the area known as La Virgen de Sarapiqui and you will raft down the river with the same name. While rafting you will certainly enjoy the beautiful nature and the exciting rapids the river is known for.

This tour is very suitable for people who are going to experience their first raftingtrip. In addition, the tour is definitely worthwhile for people with more rafting experience, because of the large rapids in the river. The minimum age for this tour is 9 years.
The complete tour takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and covers a distance of 16 kilometers/10 miles. Halfway through the tour you will take a break and enjoy some fresh fruit.

Tubing, or going down a river in a big rubber tire, is offered in many places in Costa Rica.

Sarapiqui is a region ideally suited for this and your trip will start in Palmitas and via the Sardinal River you will eventually arrive at the La Quinta hotel. In total you will cover about 4 kilometers and you will encounter class I and II rapids. Your rubber band has good handles and is very stable, so the tubing is also very safe. A guide will accompany you during the trip, which will last about 2 hours in total.

Discover this special reserve after dark. Accompanied by a guide, you will see how the jungle comes to life once the sun goes down! Your guide will tell you in more detail about the nocturnal animals and how they live. For example, there are insects, frogs and nocturnal mammals. This way you get a different view of the jungle in Costa Rica.
The night walk starts at 7:30 pm, and you have to make a reservation in advance. Remember to wear closed shoes and preferably long pants and a t-shirt with long sleeves. Also, bring a flashlight!

Tirimbina offers another special tour, a 2.5 hour chocolate tour! A professional guide will take you on a historical journey of the cacao plant and will tell you more about the importance of cacao to the Mayans and the Incas and how chocolate eventually made its way to Europe through Spanish rule and evolved into the sweet treat we all know today.
Your tour begins in the jungle, the cocoa trees are native here and grow amidst other plants and trees. Next up, you’ll hike to a plot of land that used to be used for cocoa production, and you get more explanation about the production and harvesting process of the cocoa bean. Then you will learn how cocoa beans were eventually processed into chocolate. Of course, you get to taste the final results yourself!
Cocoa has always played a special role as a product in many cultures, but also as a plant in the jungle. This tour will tell you more about this in a fun and educational way, a must!

The Arenal Hanging Bridges are a special attraction that is easily accessible with your own rental car. The bridges were built by engineers according to the highest safety standards. During the construction of the bridges the rainforest was kept intact as much as possible.

In total there are 16 bridges. Ten of these bridges are static bridges, between 8 meters/ 6 feet and 22 meters / 27 feet long. Six bridges are suspension bridges and range from 48 to 98 meters / 157 to 320 feet in length. While walking on the paths and bridges, you can enjoy the picturesque views and experience the forest and jungle from a completely different angle.

The Selvatura Canopy Tour is one of the most beautiful canopy tours in the country. The cables go right through the rainforest instead of above it. In total there are 15 different cables and 18 platforms.
As an extra challenge, Selvatura has the so-called “Tarzan Swing” at the end of the tour. Imagine yourself swinging through the forest like Tarzan or Jane! The tour begins with an explanation of safety by local well-trained guides. This tour is suitable for everyone older than 4 years. For safety reasons, it is not possible to take this tour if you weigh more than 140 kg. It is recommended that you wear long pants and closed shoes during the tour. The total duration of the tour is 2.5 to 3 hours. You can extend this tour with an extra cable, the ‘Superman’ for even more adrenaline as you fly over the jungle.

At the Treetop Walkway you walk both through and above the rainforest. A walk of 3 kilometers / 1,8 miles through the rainforest over 8 bridges. These bridges vary from 50 to 170 meters / 164 to 560 feet in length. The height of these bridges again varies from 12 to 60 meters / 39 to 196 miles. Visitors can walk on their own in this unique tropical ecosystem. Chances are you will spot monkeys, sloths and tropical birds during the walk.
The Treetop Walkway can be walked by visitors of all ages. The walk will take about 2.5 hours. A must is a good camera and binoculars. Tours with a bilingual (Spanish & English) professional guide are also possible.

Program
7:30 AM: Departure by boat from Uvita. In about an hour and a half you will head to the San Pedrillo Ranger Station.
9:00 am: Upon arrival your guide will take you to the ranger station where you can get ready for the hike. There are restrooms and showers here. The trails around San Pedrillo are flat. Keep in mind that it can be hot during the dry season from December through April and rainy during the other months. Once you are all ready, you will set out with your guide for a 2.5 to 3 hour hike in Corcovado.
11:30 am: Lunch break of half an hour on Playa San Josecito. After lunch, you can head out again with your guide or choose to swim or relax on the beach.
14:30: Boat leaves for Drake Bay, between 15:30 and 16:00 we will arrive there again.

11:30 am: Lunch break of half an hour and return to the ranger station.
12:30 pm: Boat departs for Drake Bay, arriving back there around 2 pm.

The town of Ostional is one of the few places in the world where you can experience a special natural phenomenon,  an “arribada” or “arrival”. Within 2 to 4 days hundreds, sometimes thousands of turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Just before or during such an arribada it is very worthwhile to visit Ostional, check locally for more information about dates. The arribadas take place throughout the year, at least once a month and sometimes twice a month. This also depends on the position of the moon. During the Costa Rican rainy season, between June and December, even bigger arribadas normally take place. Truly an experience to remember!
If you’re going to do this tour, don’t forget your hiking boots, wear dark clothing and bring anti-mosquito. Entrance, guide, drinks and a snack are included in the tour. The departure time of the tour depends on the arribada and takes about 4.5 hours.
