Cabin The Palo Verde National Park covers nearly 19,000 hectares. It includes the largest wetland in the country, bordering the Tempisque river, and one of the last large stretches of tropical dry forest in Central America. More than 20 types of tropical hardwood are protected in this National Park.
Palo Verde National Park is a great location to spot many species of water and migratory birds, such as grebes, cormorants, herons, ibises, spoonbills, caracaras, jacanas and much more. With a bit of luck you also encounter different mammals, such as monkeys, deer, coatis and armadillos.
Do not forget to bring your binoculars and camera!
You stay at the Biological Station in the middle of the National Park, in a clean but rustic cabin. The meals are served ‘family style’ and you share them with other guests, students and scientists who also stay at the Biological Station. This is an excellent way to learn more about the local research projects in the park.
A hike with an experienced guide is included in your stay. For sure you will spot different types of birds and learn more about the flora and fauna. If you’d like you can also book an extra (boat) tour.
